FCA warns insurers about cover during cost of living crisis

FCA has written to the CEOs of insurers and brokers following concerns that customers may look to cut back on the insurance they hold as the cost of living crisis continues.  FCA wants to be sure that customers are protected from the costs of unnecessary products or add-ons and unfair penalties. It reminds firms how they can help customers who may be vulnerable or in financial difficulty. It wants to see them helping customers to get the level of cover they need, and not to have to cancel unnecessary products – although if they need to do this, it should be easy to do so.
