NCA has published updated guidance on SAR Glossary Codes and Reporting Routes. The booklet follows the familiar form, providing:
- a checklist aimed at establishing whether the circumstances require immediate attention (eg a DAML SAR, or whether immediate risks are presented to children or vulnerable persons;
- guidance on relevant factors such as the involvement of professionals, the presence of PEPs, or whether the report relates to the proceeds of bribery;
- whether the laundering relates to certain specific economic crime offences;
- whether the laundering is linked to sanctioned entities;
- whether the reporter wants to return money to the victim of crime;
- codes to use for specific requests;
- guidance on expected content and detail of a SAR; and
- codes relevant for TACT SARs.
