FSCP backs FCA’s plans to strengthen fin prom rules for high risk investments

The Financial Services Consumer Panel (FSCP) has published its response to the FCA’s consultation on how to improve its financial promotion rules for high risk investments, which closed on 23 March.

The FSCP supports the FCA’s proposals and considers that they will better match the rules to the needs of consumers, rather than focussing on what works for products. The FSCP also supports the proposed introduction of stronger risk warnings and positive frictions but says that there would be benefits to extending these rules to cover existing customers, not just those investing with a firm for the first time.
