Government outlines priorities for the digital regulatory landscape

Following the publication of the Plan for Digital Regulation last summer, the government has written to the Digital Regulation Cooperation Forum (DRCF) setting out its priorities for the digital regulatory landscape and cross-cutting policy areas. In particular, the government has invited the DRCF to consider the opportunities for collaboration in:

  • AI governance;
  • online advertising;
  • supporting the government’s ongoing implementation of the National Data Strategy; and
  • ensuring cooperation and coherent regulatory approaches on online safety, data and competition policy.

The government seeks to achieve a pro-innovation regulatory approach that is fully coordinated, streamlined and coherent.
