Emma BondThe Prime Minister has pledged to bring forward the ‘Brexit Freedoms’ Bill, which aims to end the current status of EU law, enabling it to be amended or removed more easily. This announcement is accompanied by Government’s publication of its policy document: ‘The Benefits of Brexit: How the UK is taking advantage of leaving the EU’. The paper itself sets out Government’s plan to use the opportunities arising from Brexit to improve the competition of businesses and prosperity of people.
The reforms to the regulatory framework identified in the paper include a focus on creating a proportionate data regime and an agile method of dealing with AI, as well as simplifying unnecessary reporting burdens for small and medium-sized companies.
