Parliament launches commercial insurance inquiry

The Industry and Regulators Committee has published a call for evidence for a new inquiry into commercial insurance and reinsurance regulation. It is asking for evidence by 11 February on the roles of the regulators and the appropriateness of regulation, both in terms of the content and application by the regulators.  It is also looking for views on how the activities of the regulators affect the ease of carrying out commercial insurance and reinsurance business in the UK and the impact of this on availability and cost of cover.  It also seeks views on the global competitiveness of the London Market and how regulation elsewhere impacts this, and on what improvements the UK could make to regulation post-Brexit.
