European Council and Parliament agree crypto-transfer mandate

The Council of the EU has agreed on a mandate to negotiate with the Parliament on a proposal to update existing rules on information accompanying transfers of funds so that they will include certain crypto assets within their scope. The Council’s amendments to the Commission proposal will extend the scope of the Funds Transfer Regulation to transfers between crytpo-asset service providers and unhosted wallets.
