OPBAS publishes progress report

OPBAS has published its latest report on its work to bring compliance with AML requirements in the professional services supervisory  sector up to the levels in other sectors.  Its report shows there are still significant weaknesses and differing levels of achievement. In particular, it found that many supervisors still do not have a risk based approach that properly prioritises their AML supervisory and enforcement work – and that in some areas more can be done to make information and intelligence sharing more effective. Concerningly, OPBAS still found significant gaps in most professional body enforcement frameworks.
