EIOPA publishes IDD “general good” analysis

EIOPA has analysed Member State rules implementing the IDD and identified some practices that are not in the interests of the general good. For example, it has asked some Member States to adjust their requirements where they:

  • seek to impose requirements that, for instance, require incoming intermediaries to hold a specific diploma before engaging in activities in a host state;
  • seek to impose registration or organisational requirements on intermediaries from other states; and
  • quote “compendia” of legislation when informing incoming intermediaries of the “general good” rules the host state imposes.
