Committee calls for more evidence on post-Brexit FS

The House of Lords EU sub-committee has called for more evidence on financial services after Brexit.  It now wants to focus on the priorities for the future relationship between the UK and EU and the consequences if there is no free trade agreement.  It poses several questions, including:

  • is the UK financial services sector well prepared for the end of the transition period – and what are the main areas where arrangements still need to be put in place?
  • how important is an FTA and what should its priorities be?
  • what implications would a “no agreement” scenario have? and
  • what are respondents’ views on the Financial Services Bill and the future regulatory framework consultation?

Evidence is welcomed up to 20 November,
