Emma RadmoreBIS is inviting responses to a discussion paper on the design of a prudential treatment for crypto-assets, in recognition of the growth in these types of products and related services, and consequential and resulting risks.
Issues considered in the discussion paper include:
- what the relevant feature and risk characteristics of crypto-assets are that should inform the design of treatment of exposures;
- what benefits crypto-assets provide for both the banking system, and wider financial services environment; and
- what economic and related functions and potential sources of value should be considered relevant.
Responses are invited by 13 March 2020.
