Government answers AML questions

In response to questions posed in Parliament, the Secretary of State for the Home Department confirmed that the UK has not opted in to the Directive on criminal sanctions for money laundering our legislation is already largely compliant with its provisions and, in terms of the offences and sentencing, goes further. As a result, it would not have been beneficial to sign up to it.
