‘General good’ report published by EIOPA

EIOPA has conducted a review of the approaches of NCA to ‘greater good’ rules.

The findings of the report included the assessment that divergence between Member States in relation to, in particular, the quality and level of diversity of information requirements were acting as a barrier to the effective functioning of the Single Market.

Accordingly the report outlined a number of follow up actions to be taken by EIOPA, in particular consulting with external stakeholders to seek feedback on the findings and conclusions of the report, and on any general good provisions which are considered to be disproportionate from a consumer protection perspective and/or to have an adverse impact on cross-border activities.
