Call for views on Access to Cash research

The Payment Systems Regulator has published the results of its commissioned research into how people and businesses are using cash in today’s landscape.

It found that despite the transition to and increase in electronic payments and banking, over 80% of the surveyed individual respondents had used cash in the last week, and most small businesses have a need to be able to deposit cash at their bank.

These findings emphasise the importance of access to cash, an ongoing focus of the regulator.  Consequently the regulator is calling for views on its research and the issues and findings examined.  Responses are requested by 23 August 2019.
