Call for evidence on impact of MiFID II disclosure requirements

ESMA has opened a call for evidence regarding the impact of MiFID II disclosure requirements in relation to inducements, and costs and charges. The responses will form part of ESMA’s assessment of the implementation of MiFID II, in accordance with Art. 90 of MiFID II and the mandate posed by the EC earlier this year.

The questions asked by ESMA include:

  • issues encountered by firms when applying the MiFID II disclosure requirements for inducements;
  • whether as a result of these requirements, products being offered have changed; and
  • what changes might be proposed to cost disclosure requirements applicable to professional clients and eligible counterparties.

Comments are invited by 6 September 2019.
