Emma RadmoreFollowing consultations in March 2018, the FCA has published its ‘Approach to Supervision‘ and ‘Approach to Enforcement‘ papers.
The Supervision paper describes the FCA’s role in promoting fair and honest markets, why and how it prioritises its supervision work and how supervision works in practice. It also appends the Firm Assessment Model used by the FCA to assess individual firms and as part of the Firm Evaluation process.
The Enforcement paper sets out how the FCA diagnoses and addresses harm and provides an overview of their role in enforcement, and the sanctions and remedies available.
The papers also include feedback received to the consultations.
These publications form part of the FCA’s Mission commitment to transparency.
