Companies House to do sanctions checks

Companies House has announced it now carries on additional checks on certain applicants for registration, to guard against designated persons using economic resources such as companies in an attempt to get round sanctions restrictions.

From 12 December, Companies House will check applications from UK companies, European Companies, LLPs and SLPs, to assess the name, address, date of birth, nationality and occupation of individuals and main activities of the company. If its checks suggest a designated person may be involved, it will reject the application unless the applicant can provide evidence that the person is not designated.
