Publication of FCA’s findings on long-term mortgage arrears

The FCA has published the outcome of its thematic review into the treatment of customers with long-term mortgage arrears.

While in general it found that firms treated such customers appropriately, it did note areas for improvement and inconsistencies in management practices.

The FCA recommends that firms that offer or administer mortgages should read the review, and make improvements to their own arrears management practices where necessary.
