IFF surveys firms’ approach to Machine Learning in the Anti-Money Laundering space

The Institute of International Finance has published a short form summary report following a survey it conducted of 59 regulated firms.

In particular, the study found that the use of machine learning techniques is spreading across the industry, and is being used to gain greater and faster insights to be reviewed by dedicated AML analysts, to drive a reduction in false positive rates and obtain better transaction monitoring results.
