FCA SPEECH ON BREXIT: TRANSITION AND FINANCIAL REGULATION

The FCA has published a speech by Andrew Bailey, Chief Executive of the FCA, on Brexit, following the agreement reached between the UK and EU on a transition period.

Key issues highlighted by Mr Bailey include:

• the importance of a transitional period for everyone involved in financial services on both sides;
• the need for continuing authorisation for firms which are undertaking cross-border business between the UK; and
• the need to work with EU regulators to find common solutions.
