FCA surveys firms passporting into UK

As part of its preparation for Brexit, the Government announced in December 2017 that it would, if necessary, introduce legislation to enable a ‘temporary permission’ scheme for EEA firms and funds which, following Brexit, can no longer rely on their passporting rights to do business in the UK.

The FCA has published a survey to be completed by such EEA firms and funds that currently rely on passporting rights. The survey responses will help the FCA develop communications about the ‘temporary permission’ regime, and help them identify which firms may seek to use this regime and how it should accordingly be structured.

The survey can be accessed via the FCA’s dedicated web page, and it closes on 11 May 2018.
