FIN. TeamThe Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) recently published its information rights strategic plan 2017 – 2021. The strategic plan sets out the ICO’s mission to increase the trust that the public has in government, public bodies and the private sector; including trust in transparency, in the digital economy and in digital public service delivery. It also highlights the ICO’s commitment to lead the implementation and effective oversight of the General Data Protection Regulation and other live data protection reforms; to explore innovative and technologically agile ways of protecting privacy; to strengthen transparency and accountability and promote good information governance; and to protect the public in a digital world.
